The Titan Crane at Clydebank which used to be part of the famous John Brown's shipyard and was used to lift heavy machinery into ships. The crane is now open to the public. Andrew is seen at the top of the crane.

The Riverside Museum

In the summer the new Riverside Museum, a Museum of transport and Glasgow‘s industrial heritage, opened in Glasgow. The museum is situated near the confluence of the Rivers Kelvin and Clyde. The young archaeology group of which Sarah is a member was invited to a preview of the Museum about a week before it opened. These photographs were taken at the preview. The work of Zaha Hadid, the new building is certainly stunning. The Tall Ship is in a berth alongside the Museum and in one gallery a very large window enables it to be a backdrop to the exhibits. Nevertheless the arrangement of exhibits is in some cases less than happy giving a feeling of clutter.

The Tall Ships

One of the big events of the year was the visit of the Tall Ships in the summer to Greenock on the South Side of the Clyde.
